PARKVILLE, Mo. — Missouri Baptist University delivered a strong showing at the Spring Classic, with the Spartans' men's team finishing runner-up and the women's team placing sixth over the three-round event at The Deuce at The National Golf Club of Kansas City.
The MBU men finished second in the team standings behind William Woods with a total of 863. The Spartans were powered by an individual title performance from Will Dugal, who tied for first at 4-under 206. Dugal carded rounds of 69 (-1), 68 (-2) and 69 (-1), using a strong final round to secure a share of medalist honors.
Luke Gardner added a top finish for Missouri Baptist, tying for sixth at 6-over, while William Bomkamp tied for ninth at 7-over. Pedro Cordova and Logan Malott each finished tied for 24th at 15-over to round out the Spartans' scoring lineup.
On the women's side, Missouri Baptist placed sixth overall. GG Rogers led the Spartans with a 17th-place finish at 43-over, highlighted by an opening-round 87. Elena Montalban followed in 25th at 60-over, while Priscila Rodriguez finished 27th at 69-over. Zelletta Wyatt rounded out the scoring group in 35th.
The Spartans come home to host the MBU Spring Invitational next Monday and Tuesday April 13-14, at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton, Ill.
