KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University baseball will start its NAIA National Tournament run in the Opening Round as the top seed in the Williamsburg, Ky., bracket. MBU will play Northwestern Ohio in the opener on Monday, May 12, at Doyle Buhl Stadium.
 
The 16^th-ranked Spartans are the reigning American Midwest Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champions after going 40-9 overall and 31-5 in conference play. They have won 20 games in a row, sweeping their way through the AMC Tournament with a 4-1 win over Central Baptist College and a pair of run-rule victories over Columbia College.
 
MBU currently has the fourth-lowest earned run average in the NAIA at 3.64 and ranks sixth in strikeouts per nine innings at 10.53. Offensively, they are led by James Jett, Blayne Yarger, Cole Robinson, and Jayden Orozco, who all posted an on-base plus slugging percentage north of 1.100 with more than 10 home runs.
