Lydia Cornett and
Mack Miller were announced to the 2024-25 Academic All-America® Women's At-Large teams as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday morning.
The NAIA at-large teams honored 20 student-athletes, with two members of the first team holding perfect 4.00 GPAs. A total of four of the 20 members have 4.00 GPAs either as an undergraduate or a graduate student. The 10-member first team has a 3.89 cumulative GPA.
Cornett, a senior from Defiance, Mo., was selected to the Academic All-America® Women's At-Large First Team for the second consecutive year after posting a 3.92 GPA as a Criminal Justice major. The attacker was second in the NAIA in total assists (63) and third in the league in goals (75), points (138), and shots (150) on her way to selections as an NAIA All-America First Team member, the Heart of America Athletic Conference First Team, and an NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete.
Joining her with her first career selection to the second team was Miller. The senior from Cedar Hill, Mo., scored 67 goals and tallied 95 points while posting a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Sport Management major. She was also selected to the NAIA All-America Second Team, the All-Heart First Team, and earned NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete status.
The Missouri Baptist University women's lacrosse team tallied a 13-7 overall record, including a 7-1 record in Heart play. They fell one win short of a Heart Conference Championship and qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the third consecutive year before falling in the quarterfinals to Keiser University.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
