MADISON, Ill. — Missouri Baptist University men's golf opened its fall season with an eighth-place finish at the Arch Cup hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis, completing the 36-hole event Tuesday at Gateway National Golf Links.
The Spartans shot rounds of
307 (+23) and
304 (+20) for a team total of
611 (+55).
Pedro Cordova led the way with rounds of 73–74 for a
147 (+5), placing him in a tie for 16th overall.
Logan Malott followed closely with scores of 73–75 to finish at
148 (+6) and tied for 19th.
Luke Gardner posted the team's low round on Tuesday with a
73, ending at
153 (+11).
Gonzalo Pacheco Gonzalez (81–82) and
Jacob Sturm (83–86) rounded out the team scoring.
Competing as individuals,
Ruger Govero fired rounds of 80–76 for
156 (+14), while
Blaze Greathouse went 83–79 to finish at
162 (+19).
Host Missouri–St. Louis claimed both the team and individual titles, with Daniel Solavera finishing at the top with a 70-66 (-6).
