SILVIS, Ill. — Missouri Baptist University men's golf produced one of its strongest results of the fall Tuesday, placing fourth overall at the NAIA National Preview Tournament at TPC Deere Run, site of the upcoming 2026 NAIA Men's Golf National Championship.
The Spartans posted rounds of 289–314 for a 36-hole total of 603 (+35), finishing behind only Marian (596), Hastings (600), and Northwestern (602) in a 21-team field that featured many of the nation's top programs.
Leading the way for MBU was
Luke Gardner, who opened with a 71 and closed with a 73 to place fourth overall at 144 (+2). Gardner was just two shots outside the top three and secured his first top-five finish of the season.
Will Dugal also delivered a standout performance, firing matching rounds of 74–74 for 148 (+6) to finish in a tie for ninth, marking his first top-10 of the year.
Logan Malott contributed with rounds of 77–78 to place in a tie for 34th at 155 (+13), while
Pedro Cordova matched him closely with scores of 76–80 for 156 (+14) and a share of 42nd.
Blaze Greathouse rounded out the Spartans' lineup at 196.
The top of the leaderboard featured Indiana Wesleyan University's Sam Dykema, who captured medalist honors at 137 (-5) after rounds of 68 and 69. Marian claimed the team title with a two-day score of 596 (+26).
Men's golf will return to action in its own MBU Invitational on Oct. 6-7, hosted in Alton, Ill., at Spencer T. Olin.
