Missouri Baptist University starting pitcher
Teague Robertson was selected as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, Feb. 9, for his performance against first-ranked Louisiana State University Shreveport on Saturday.
The 6-2 righty from Columbia, Mo., got the ball in the Cajun Collision finale against the defending national champions and dominated with a two-hit, complete-game victory. He notched seven strikeouts and faced 23 batters over seven innings to propel a 3-1 win for the Spartans.
After surrendering a run in the bottom of the first, Robertson set the side down in order in the second, third, and fourth innings. In the fifth, he faced the minimum when he forced a double play to erase a walk and retired the next six to end the game.
Robertson and the Spartans are back on the road in Hattiesburg, Miss., for four games beginning on Thursday, Feb. 12. They open at 4 p.m. against No. 11 William Carey University.
