In his first outing, Robertson led Missouri Baptist to a commanding 20–1 victory over Benedictine (Kan.). He threw 4.0 shutout innings, allowing only two hits while striking out three batters. He followed with another dominant start against Missouri Valley in a 14–1 victory. Robertson pitched 5.0 innings, allowing just one unearned run on two hits while striking out six.
