PERU, Neb. – Allison Leigraf led No. 10 Missouri Baptist University softball to a doubleheader sweep over Peru State College on Monday, April 13. The senior third baseman drove in four in a 9-1 win in game one and followed up with two more in a 10-2 game two victory.
Game One Recap
The Spartans wasted no time jumping in front, plating four runs in the first inning.
Miranda Ladson opened the scoring with an RBI single, followed by run-scoring walks from Leigraf and
Jacie Dees. Another run crossed on a passed ball to give Missouri Baptist a 4-0 lead.
MBU added three more runs in the second inning.
Alexi Sanchez drove in a run, and Leigraf followed with a two-run double to extend the advantage to 7-0.
The Spartans pushed the lead to 9-0 in the fifth inning.
Brooklynn Fischer led off with a solo home run, and Leigraf later added another RBI.
Peru State broke up the shutout in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single from Sage Serdinsky, but Missouri Baptist maintained control to secure the run-rule victory.
Ladson led the Spartans offensively, going a perfect 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Leigraf drove in four runs, while Fischer finished with three runs scored and a home run.
In the circle, Fischer (11-3) earned the win, allowing one run on six hits over five innings while striking out six.

Game Two Recap
The Spartans jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning. Sanchez opened the scoring with an RBI double, and Leigraf followed with an RBI single.
Peru State answered in the bottom half, tying the game at 2-2 behind RBI plays from Jami Mans and Sage Serdinsky.
Missouri Baptist regained control in the second inning, plating three runs.
Makayla Johnson delivered an RBI single, Ladson added an RBI on a fielder's choice, and Sanchez drove in another run to make it 5-2.
The Spartans continued to build their lead in the third when a run scored on a passed ball, and added three more in the fourth. Leigraf doubled home a run before Dees delivered a two-run double to extend the margin to 9-2.
Missouri Baptist capped the scoring in the fifth on an RBI groundout from Ladson.
Sanchez led the Spartans offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Leigraf and Dees each added two hits and two RBI, while Johnson scored twice and drove in a run.
