OZARK, Mo. – First-seeded Missouri Baptist University was eliminated from the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament with a 6-1 loss to Mount Mercy University on Saturday morning.

MBU was limited to three hits and struck out 14 times in a 6-1 loss to Mount Mercy on Friday.
MMU took control early with two runs in the first inning. Nick Meyer delivered an RBI double before Sam Wiese added a run-scoring single to make it 2-0.
The Mustangs broke the game open in the sixth, scoring four runs to extend the lead to 6-0. Lane Spieker drove in a run after being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Wiese followed with a three-run double.
MBU avoided the shutout in the seventh when
Max Shabestari singled up the middle to score
Griffin Brown. That was the only offense for the Spartans, who managed just three hits and did not draw a walk.
Cole Conner (7-2) earned the win for Mount Mercy, tossing a complete game while striking out 14.
Tyler Timmerman (5-4) took the loss for the Spartans, allowing two runs over 2.2 innings.
