St. Louis, Mo.- The Missouri Baptist women's soccer team were wanting to forget about their previous loss to Park University and get back on the winning track. The team was able to score three times in the first half shutting out Harris-Stowe State University 3-0.
The Spartans wanted to get their offense going as in their previous game they were unable to score a goal. In the 28th minute MBU's
Courtney Young was able to get the offense going with a early goal to make it 1-0. Only six minutes later the team extended their lead when
Melissa Turney was able to beat Hornets goalie Heather Wors to make it 2-0 Spartans.
The team added their final goal of the day one minute later scored by
Courtney Young her second of the day to make it 3-0. Harris Stowe outshot the Spartans 6-1 in the second half but were unable to comeback. The team outshot Harris-Stowe 11-7 with seven of those shots coming in the first half. MBU's goalie Samantha Schulze made two saves on the day.
The Spartans will be looking to keep their strong play going when they host William Woods University on October 8th at 2:00 p.m
