110 MINUTES IS NOT ENOUGH AS WOMEN'S SOCCER TIES HANNIBAL-LAGRANGE, 0-0

ST. LOUIS- 90 regulation minutes and 20 overtime minutes were not enough to find a winner, as the Missouri Baptist women's soccer team tied Hannibal-LaGrange, 0-0. The Spartans are now 6-5-2 on the season, but more importantly 4-1-1 in AMC play.

Sam Schulze recorded one save at the 25 minute mark and did not see any action the rest of the way. Missouri Baptist blasted seven shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net.

Anna Recer led the offense with three shots on goal. Kaytlin Nevels, Megan Huffman, Carly Hempel and Argell London recorded the other four shots on goal.

The Spartans had four shots on goal in the second half, three in the final seven minutes.

In the first overtime period, Hannah McElroy had one shot, but that was blocked. Anna Recer had a shot on goal with under three minutes left, but Whitney Hatton kept the Spartans off the scoreboard.

In the second overtime period, Missouri Baptist had four shots, but none were on goal.

The tie keeps the Spartans in fourth place in the conference standings. Deno Merrick and his squad will take on Benedictine-Springfield on Wednesday evening. The Bulldogs are 1-3-0 in conference play. Missouri Baptist has already won more conference games than last season, when MBU went 3-4-1 in AMC play in 2012.
