Missouri Baptist played two very close doubles matches after dropping No. 1 8-4. Danielle Griggs and Kelly Phipps defeated Hannah Wadlow and Elise Beckenmeier to set the tone for the day. At No. 2 singles, however, MBU nearly pulled even.
Nicole Zevlever and Haley Grueber played great, but dropped a tight 9-7 match to Megan Henry and Caitlin Metseff. The Spartans' duo of Shelby Mund and Lindey Kuehnel also lost their match at No. 3 doubles to Victoria Bostic and Bre Cunningham 8-6 as MBU entered singles down 3-0.
Things continued to go south for MBU. The Spartans dropped all but No. 5 singles. The lone win was picked-up by Mund in an 8-6 win over Bostic.
