SPARTANS OVERPOWERED BY #12 REINHARDT

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse team came up just short of upsetting No. 12-ranked Reinhardt University on Wednesday afternoon in a 9-7 loss.

The Spartans were held scoreless and allowed just two shots in the first quarter as the Eagles struck first blood.

Missouri Baptist found the back of the net for the first time in the second quarter. Reinhardt, however, countered the Spartan goal with three of their own.

MBU came back to make a push for the win after it dug itself a 4-1 hole after the first half. The Spartans scored six more in the second half, but was unable to close the scoring gap. Reinhardt University scored five goals of their own during the second half to siez the lead for good.

Aaron McClintock and Lorisio Mehmeti led the Spartans with two goals apiece. Dan MolletDrake Massengren, and Tim Borroff also found the back of the Eagles net for MBU.

The Spartans will again play in Georgia on Friday, March 13, against Savannah College of Art and Design to close out the week.
