SUN SHINES ON SPARTANS WITH WIN OVER SAINTS

ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse team hit their stride and defeated Aquinas College 6-4 on Monday afternoon.

Tim Borroff found the back of the net twice to start the game off for the Spartans. Aquinas answered back with their first goal of the game when the Spartans own Aaron McClintock ended the first quarter with another goal to put MBU up 3-1.

MBU remained scoreless through the second quarter as the Saints found the back of the Spartan net to put Aquinas one goal behind the Spartans.

At the conclusion of the half, Missouri Baptist came back with fresh energy and fired off three unanswered goals in the third quarter.

Aquinas College held for three goals to start the fourth quarter and closed the scoring gap to one yet again. Borroff came in big again for MBU and found his way past the Saints goalie for another Spartan goal. Aquinas answered back, however, with another goal to stay in the game.

MBU pushed to hold the lead as Austin Dahl fired a shot from 10 feet out to give the Spartans the two goal advantage. Missouri Baptist continued to hold the Saints for the remainder of the quarter to close the game out with a final score of 8-6.

Tim Borrof led the Spartans with four goals. Austin Dahl also contributed two goals and one assist. Aaron McClintock and Dan Mollet posted one goal and two assists on the afternoon.

Missouri Baptist will begin their travel schedule on Wednesday, March 11, in Waleska, Georgia, against Reinhardt University.
