ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist Women's Tennis lost against NAIA opponent Southeastern University (Fla.) 7-2.
Missouri Baptist (1-4) traveled to Florida over Spring Break to compete agianst two NAIA ranked opponents.
The wins came from doubles No. 3 and singles No. 6, both played by Lindsey Burgess. Emily Brown and Burgess worked together to shut out SEU at doulbes No. 3 8-2. Burgess also ended singles No. 6 6-1, 6-2.
"7-2 with a few other close matches is solid result for our first competitive outdoor match, especially since we are so young and were playing against a team that was ranked this year," said Head Coach Cole Stevenson. "Linds had a great day. Was really proud of her. Being outdoors didn't seem to faze her one bit."
On March 15, Missouri Baptist will face off agianst Warner (Fla.) which is currently receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. First serve is scheduled for 8 a.m.
