ST. LOUIS [BOX SCORE] –The Missouri Baptist men' lacrosse team defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 8-5 on Friday.
The Spartans (3-3) opened the game with a four goal run. MBU held the Bulldogs to two goals in the final minute of the quarter.
Missouri Baptist continued to advance the scoring gap as the team scored two of the three goals in the second quarter.
Both teams were unable to find net in the third quarter as the half time score of 6-3 remained into the fourth quarter.
MBU was finally able to break the scoring drought with two goals in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs answered the two goals with two goals of their own in the final minute of the game.
Aaron McClintock led the Spartans with four goals on the day. Austin Dahl followed McClintock with two goals of his own. Tim Borroff and Dan Mollet contributed one goal apiece.
Robert Ates stood in goal for all 60 minutes and recorded seven saves with only five goals against.
Missouri Baptist will travel to Lexington, Ky. to face Asbury University (Ky.) and St. Andrews College (N.C.) on March 31 and April 1.
