ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University Women's Tennis couldn't overcome the University of Illinois - Springfield (Ill.).

The doubles team, Krista Tyson and Dani Jo Stevenson, took their second straight win at No. 1, 8-6.

Missouri Baptist took another win at singles No. 6, 6-3 6-0. Lindsey Burgess grabbed the win and added to her second straight singles victory at this position.

Even though the Spartans fought hard, the Prairie Stars took control and ended the match 7-2.

"We struggled to win the big points today, but I love the composure these girls have," Head Coach Cole Stevenson said. "It's very impressive the way they carry themselves a freshman and sophomores."

Missouri Baptist hosts Fontbonne University (Mo.) on March 7. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
