Greenville, S.C. - The Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse team started its week in South Carolina with practice, clinic and awards banquet on Wednesday.
The team arrived in South Carolina for the NAIA Invitational on Tuesday and began the week with a full day of activities on Wednesday.Â
"It (the ride) was super long and cramped at times," Said Ben Eder, but it wasn't too bad and was nice when we got here."
The Spartans started the day with practice to shake off the bus ride the day before.Â
After practice the team took a trip to a local elementary school to teach a lacrosse clinic.Â
"We had to keep it simple because they were little guys, but we had a good time," said Eder.
At the clinic the team worked together to help teach the kids some of the fundamentals of lacrosse such as how to field a ground ball and how to cradle the ball while running.Â
"We walked them through some of the fundamentals of lacrosse and all the guys had a good time...," said Eder. "We walked through some drills, taught them the basics. I think they had a good time, players and the kids."
At the conclusion of the clinic MBU made their way to the NAIA Invitational opening banquet.
All of the teams were welcomed and introduced at the banquet and the All-American awards were handed out.Â
The MBU All-Americans are as follows:
2nd Team
Robbie Ates
Aaron McClintock
Dan Mollet
Austin Dahl
John Wood
The Spartans will now prepare for their first game of the tournament against Lourdes (Ohio) on Monday, May 5 at 6 p.m. CST.Â
