ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] In a battle for Conway Road, the Missouri Baptist Women's Tennis squad stumbled in its second match of the 2016 Fall Season and lost to cross-town rival, Maryville (Mo.), 7-2.

The Spartan singles recorded all of the points in the match for the visitors as the No. 1 and No. 2 positions for Missouri Baptist showed its strength.

At No. 1 singles, Thais Castiglioni defeated Kine Kleppe in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. It was the first victory of the season at No. 1 for Castiglioni, after sitting out a redshirt season in the spring of 2016.

Krista Tyson brought home the win at No. 2 singles as well. The junior from Jacksonville, Fla., defeated Lucy Horbatowski in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Ashley Bonine took her opponent, Lina Kunert to a tiebreak set to decide the match. After winning the first set 7-6, Bonine dropped the next set 6-1 and the tiebreak 10-3.

Missouri Baptist will wrap-up its Fall Season on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Dwight Davis Tennis Center as the team will face the Saint Louis (Mo.) Billikens.
