MEN’S LACROSSE DROPS TIGHT-CHECKING AFFAIR WITH SCAD-SAVANNAH

ST. LOUIS-- No. 5 Missouri Baptist Men's Lacrosse was defeated by No. 6 SCAD-Savannah 6-4 on Saturday night.

The first quarter was a feeling-out process for the Spartans and Bees.  SCAD would eventually break through at the 10-minute mark to take a 1-0 lead.

The home team extended the advantage to two early in the second quarter but Devin Mayer responded for MBU. The junior notched his ninth of the year to get the Spartans on the board. Tim Borroff added another before the break but SCAD took a 3-2 lead into halftime.

After the intermission, the Bees rattled off three in a row to stretch the lead to 6-2. The Spartans didn't go down easily in the fourth quarter. Austin Dahl scored his 22nd and 23rd goals of the season to bring MBU within two, but that would be as close as Missouri Baptist would come.

The defeat drops MBU to 4-3 on the season. The Spartans will head home for a few days before a trip to Leavenworth, Kan. They'll battle the University of St. Mary Spires at 5 pm on March 28.
