ST. LOUIS- [BOX SCORE] No. 5 ranked Missouri Baptist Men's Lacrosse defeated Benedictine 10-3 on Wednesday afternoon in their first-ever match at Spartan Field.
The Spartans used four first-quarter goals and three more second-quarter goals to take a 7-1 halftime lead. Austin Dahl was once again the go-to guy for MBU, with four markers in the opening 30 minutes. The junior captain is up to 17 goals on the season.
Devin Mayer, Josh Zion, and Tim Borroff all tallied two goals apiece for the Spartans. Robert Ates put in one of his best performances of the season in net. The sophomore made 14 saves before giving way to Alex Lauko in relief in the fourth quarter.
Missouri Baptist improves to 4-1 on the season. Next up on the schedule is a road trip to Georgia. The Spartans will take on Keiser University on March 16 and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) on March 18. Both games will be hosted by Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga.
