ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist had issues trying to find an answer for Missouri Valley. The Spartans picked-up one singles win on Friday in an 8-1 loss to the Vikings.

Missouri Baptist (3-5, 0-1 AMC/HAAC) never found its groove on Friday as Missouri Valley swept doubles play.

Down 3-0, the Spartans saw more of the same in a cold, windy day in Marshall, Mo. Lilian Blasque, Elisabeth Wahle, Adela Gil Mayor, Beatriz Sales and Reevaw Lewis all recorded wins at Nos. 1-5 singles respectively.

Cheyenne Anderson provided the lone win on the day for Missouri Baptist at No. 6 singles. The junior from Bonne Terre, Mo., posted an 8-4 win over Jelica Stamatovic.

The Spartans will now head home for their first home match of the season on Tuesday when they take-on Fontbonne (Mo.) at Creve Coeur Tennis Club. First serve is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
