MISSOURI BAPTIST TOPS EVANGEL

ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCOREMissouri Baptist Women's Tennis completed its regular season on Saturday with a 6-3 win over the Evangel (Mo.) Crusaders at home. Missouri Baptist ended its regular season with a program-best, eight win season in 2017.

The Spartans picked-up four of its six points in singles as Thais Castiglioni led the way at No. 1. The senior from Madrid won a tight match in a 7-6 decision over Mairead Cleary.

Dani Jo Stevenson, Emily Brown and Cheyenne Anderson all picked-up straight set wins as well.

In doubles, the Spartans won at both No. 1 and No. 3 as Ashley Bonine continues to serve as a solid replacement for the injured Krista Tyson along side Castiglioni. The team of Bonine and Castiglioni won in a decisive 8-4 decision over Cleary and Alina Schweizer.

Katie Lahue and Emily Brown also grabbed a point at No. 3 doubles over Hannah Anderson and Blythe Asbell, 8-5.
