ST. LOUIS— MBU Women's Tennis knocked off Lewis and Clark CC 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Creve Coeur Racket Club.
Krista Tyson and Tamara Klimek earned a shutout in the opening doubles match with an 8-0 win at No. 1. Dani Stevenson and Thais Castiglioni had to work slightly harder but also came away with a victory with a 9-7 final. Emily Brown and Rafaela Davide finished things off with an 8-3 win.
Klimek, the reigning AMC Player of the Week, made quick work of the first singles match as well. The senior prevailed 6-0, 6-0 from the top spot. Krista Tyson came out ahead at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Dani Stevenson (No. 3) and Cheyenne Anderson (No. 5) both picked up two-set victories as well while Emily Brown (No. 4) and Geena Novelly (No. 6) took care of business in a single set.
The Spartans are now 4-2. Their next match is Friday at home against Illinois-Springfield.
