SPARTAN LACROSSE MAKES QUICK WORK OF SAINTS

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri Baptist's David Justvig recorded another hat trick, along with Ian Brosch, in an 11-3 victory over the Aquinas College Saints on Tuesday.

In a noon tilt on a warm and windy day, Missouri Baptist looked dominant from the beginning. Junior Ian Brosch had a career day, posting a hat trick and an assist, while winning 9-14 faceoffs.

David Justvig also had another solid performance. The senior looks to be one of the top scorers in the MCLA this season. In three games, Justvig has scored 12 goals, including the four he recorded on Tuesday. Of all players that have just played three games in the MCLA, Justvig is second in goals scored.

MBU's Justin Mueller (one goal), Brandon Horschig (one goal) and Brad Keel (one goal, two assists) also posted goals in the win.

A major factor of the win was another big goalkeeping performance by newcomer, Blake Barnett. The senior from St. Louis stopped 15 of 18 shots on goal, including a second-half shutout. Barnett finished with an impressive .833 save percentage in the game.

The Spartans will return to action on Thursday, March 15th when Northern Colorado comes to town. The game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at CBC High School.
