CROSS COUNTRY OPENS SPRING CAMPAIGN IN COLUMBIA

COLUMBIA, MO. – For the first time in program history, Missouri Baptist cross country competed in the spring at the Columbia College XC Spring Fling. The Spartan men's team did not collect a team finish while the women finished last of the six participating teams.
 
Trey Peugeot and Jack Warmann were the only men to compete in the 8k race on Friday. Peugeot completed the race about 15 seconds off his personal best at 27:34.2 which put him in 18th out of the 42 runners. Warmann crossed the line in 38th with his 30:06.7 finishing time.
 
Alyssa Jakcsy placed the highest on the women's side with her 20:56.9. Elizabeth Rogers (21:29.7) and Ali Perry (22:12.8) were next up for the Spartans in 27th and 32nd place. Madison Sargent (23:07.4) and Mikayla Williams (27:43.1) wrapped up the day in 41st and 47th place.
 
Spring cross country continues March 20 at the Mustang National Preview in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
