ELSAH, ILL. – Women's tennis falters in Elsah, Ill. Friday night as the Bulldogs of Truman State overpower Spartans.
Faith Griese and
Nina Vasiljkovic battled all the way until the last point during their No. 1 doubles match but Allie Brown and Akansha Negi delivered late, taking the bout 7-6. Griese used that momentum to propel her into her No. 2 singles bout against Negi. The junior from O'Fallon, Mo. hung on in set one sneaking past her opponent 7-5 and remained consistent winning set two 6-4, to take the match and deliver the Spartans their lone victory of the evening.

Myia McAllister and
Laura Baracaldo all put together a decent set during their matches, winning three games, as they continue to show improvement against stiff competition.

It'll be a quick turnaround for the Spartans as they head to Kansas City, Mo. tomorrow, Feb. 26 for an evening contest with Midland University. The dual is set to begin at 5:00 PM.
