The Missouri Baptist University women's track & field team split the squad on Saturday sending several athletes to the Indiana Wesleyan University Midwest Classic, while Spartan throwers competed at the Illinois College Jim Green Invite.
Highlighting the weekend were runners
Isabel Rinkenberger,
Mattie Noyes,
Adrienne Rockette, and
Mia Reed. MBU grabbed bronze in the Distance Medley Relay (4000m) placing third out of six teams with a converted time of 12:43.24.
Individually, Reed, Rinkenberger, Rockette competed in the 1000-meter run where the trio logged personal bests and placed fourth, sixth, and 13
th out of 33 participants. Between the three, Reed, Rinkenberger, and Rockette own the American Midwest Conference's top two times in the 800, 1000, and the mile.
Also joining the distance runners in Marion, Ind. for the IWU Midwest Classic was sophomore
Alaina Scott, who also recorded a top-five finish. The sophomore placed fifth out of 17 participants in the pole vault hitting on her first jump at 3.12m.
At Illinois College,
Isabella Schreiber placed 14
th in the weight throw and 19
th in the shot put.
In next weekend's final tune-up before conference, MBU will once again split up the squad sending athletes to the Indoor Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan., and the Illinois Wesleyan Titan Open in Bloomington, Ill.
