WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Missouri Baptist Women's Track & Field competed in the Mule Relays this weekend at the University of Central Missouri. A number of top ten finishes paced the Spartans this go around.
Mia Reed claimed the bronze in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:54.79. The sophomore was just behind the first and second place participants who finished 20 and 10 seconds ahead of her.
Maegan Saleh took on the long jump at the meet, coming in fifth place. The graduate student landed herself in the top ten with a jump of 5.25 meters.
The women's 4 x 100 relay team also came in fifth.
Perri Hogan,
Grace Bostic,
Alaina Scott, and
Gabby Delarue were able to clock in a time of 52.53, only a second behind the third and fourth place finishers.
There were multiple Spartans to earn seventh place finishes at the meet. The 4 x 400 relay team comprised of
Isabel Rinkenberger, mattie Noyes, Madison Sargent, and
Perri Hogan were able to clock in a time of 4:16.54 to earn seventh.
Alaina Scott also earned seventh in the pole vault with a height of 3.37m. Freshman,
Adrienne Rockette also made her way to seventh place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:21.63. Rinkenberger was just behind Rockette in the 800m, coming in eighth with a time of 2:22.09.
Several new personal bests throughout the track meet marked quite the improvement for the Spartans. Rockette's time in the 800m was her fastest yet. Scott may not have earned a new PR in her best event, the pole vault, but she did set a new record in the 100-meter hurdles (16.86).
Mia Oellermann has been steadily improving in the hurdles. The freshman set new PRs in both the 100m and 400m hurdles with times of 17.27 and 1:14.98 respectively.
Brianna Sansoucie found improvement in the 100-meter dash with a new PR of 13.80.
Haley Hernandez did the same in the 5000-meter run with a new PR of 20:10.31.
Brooke Heberer was another distance runner to earn a new PR. With a time of 5:25.72, Heberer beat her previous time by four seconds.
The Spartans will be heading to Canton, Mo. next weekend (April 22) for the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Open.
