ST. LOUIS - With the SLU Billiken Invitational canceled on Friday due to the weather, Missouri Baptist University Women's Track & Field only participated in the WashU Distance Carnival. A small lineup was sent to participate in the meet, with
Haley Hernandez,
Isabel Rinkenberger, and
Mia Reed being the only participants.
Haley Hernandez was the Spartans' runner in the 10,000-meter run on Day One of the meet. The sophomore placed 18
th out of 20 with a time of 43:44.23.
Isabel Rinkenberger was the other Spartan to run on Day One participating in the 5000-meter run. Clocking in at 18:57.98, Rinkenberger came in 12th out of 83 runners.
Mia Reed was the lone runner on Day Two for the women's track team competing in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Not only did the sophomore earn a new PR of 11:02.45, but she also came in 15+ seconds under the NAIA 'A' standard. With her eighth-place finish out of 24 and time of 11:02.45, Reed now owns the second-fastest steeplechase time in the NAIA.
Next Saturday (April 8), the team will be heading to Jefferson City, Mo. to compete in the Lincoln University Open.
