CANTON, Mo.- Women's Track & Field put in the work this weekend (April 22) at the Wildcat Open hosted by Culver-Stockton College. The Spartans were able to earn third place out of the 11 teams present.
Multiple Spartans were able to outdo their opponents and earn first place.
Isabel Rinkenberger competed in the 1500-meter run where she claimed the gold with a time of 5:06.81. Rinkenberger also participated in the 400-meter dash where she took sixth with a new personal record of 1:04.23. Rinkenberger was also a part of the 4x800-meter relay team along with
Adrienne Rockette,
Mattie Noyes, and
Mia Reed. The team, full of some of the Spartans best distance runners, was able to earn first place with a combined time of 9:47.48.
Brooke Heberer was the lone Spartan competing in the 5000-meter run this go around. She was able to not only overcome her previous personal best but captured first place.
There were also a number of Spartan athletes to earn second and third place.
Maegan Saleh took on the long jump and came away with the silver on a 5.09-meter jump. In the 400-meter dash, Rockette came away with a second-place finish with a time of 1:03.23, securing a new PR.
Mia Reed competed in the 400-meter hurdles for the first time which turned out to suit her well as she earned silver just ahead of
Mia Oellermann with a time of 1:07.03. Oellermann came away with third in the event with a time of 1:12.67, a new PR. The last of the Spartan medalists came from the women's 4x100 relay team.

Alaina Scott,
Maegan Saleh, and
Gabby Delarue clocked in a time of 52.33 to earn bronze.
On top of the athletes who found themselves medaling during the meet, numerous Spartans set a number of new personal records. Noyes, who was a part of the first place 4x800 also earned a new PR in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.67. Madison Sargent came away with a new PR in the 1500-meter run, clocking in a time of 5:30.11. In the 400-meter hurdles,
Brianna Sansoucie came away with a new PR of 1:19.01.
Overall, the Women's Track & Field team had a standout performance that they will be looking to carry over into the Drake University Relays that will be happening next week, April 26-29.
