ST. LOUIS- Missouri Baptist Women's Track & Field participated in the AMC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 4-5. While collectively they were able to secure fourth place, there were a few individuals who managed to stand out during the meet.
In one of the very first events of the meet,
Mia Reed made her mark on the 3000-meter steeplechase. The sophomore was able to come away with the gold by clocking in a time of 11:21.67. On top of that, Reed secured another gold medal in the 400m hurdles. Reed earned first place with a time of 1:07.81. Because of her standout performance during the meet, Reed earned the AMC Outstanding Track Athlete honor.
Isabel Rinkenberger posted a strong performance at the meet as well. The sophomore took first in the 1500m run with a time of 5:03.14. She also clocked in a time of 2:24.05 in the 800m to earn second place.
Alaina Scott also walked away with a gold medal, earning first in the pole vault. After her last opponent went down on 2.85 meters, Scott was just getting started at 3.00m. She posted her winning mark of 3.30m, over half a meter higher than second place. Scott also set a new PR in the 100m hurdles. In the prelims she beat out her old record to set a new one of 16.52.
In what was one of the more exciting relays of the meet,
Isabel Rinkenberger,
Adrienne Rockette,
Mattie Noyes, and
Mia Reed took on the 4x800. While earning first is always the favored outcome, what the team was really looking for was that qualifying mark for nationals. With a time of 9:24.80 the team succeeded in doing so and earned a NAIA 'B' Standard on top of their gold medal.
The Spartans earned a silver medal in the 4x400m relay, this time made of
Isabel Rinkenberger,
Adrienne Rockette, Madison Sargent, and
Mia Reed. The relay team clocked in a time of 4:10.77, a second behind first place.

Mia Oellermann was able to place in the 400m hurdles along with Reed, coming away with the bronze after setting a new personal record of 1:12.12. She also set a new PR in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.20.
Adrienne Rockette also earned a bronze medal in the 800m alongside Rinkenberger. Rockette clocked in a time of 2:24.98, just behind her fellow Spartan.
The Spartans also found themselves with a number of new personal bests.
Isabella Schreiber earned a new PR in the discus with a distance of 25.67m.
Hannah Duro earned a new PR in the javelin with a throw of 32.39m.
Perri Hogan posted numerous new PRs. She set new records for herself in the 100m (13.49), 200m (28.00), and 400m (1:02.94).
Brianna Sansoucie locked in a new PR of 1:17.11 in the 400m hurdles.
Mikayla Ware set a new PR in the 1500m run with a time of 7:17.76 along side Lilian Harris who had a new PR of 5:38.44 and Madison Sargent with a PR of 5:29.96. And lastly,
Vanessa Waidmann put up a new PR of 2:40.14 in the 800m.
The Spartans will see their last chance at qualifying for nationals next weekend, May 12-13 at the Saint Francis Fighting Change. Â
