Columbia, MO. — Missouri Baptist University Women's Soccer is set to play their rival, Columbia College, in the American Midwest Conference championship game, hosted by CC at 6 p.m.
In their semifinal match, the Spartans took down the Owls of William Woods University in dramatic fashion. With only a minute and 42 seconds left in the second half, Gabbie Wood scored off an assist from Piper Brown and Natalie Gum to win the game 1-0. Goalkeeper Gabby Mattli also recorded five saves throughout the match, and MBU's defense made a few huge blocks.
Columbia faced Harris-Stowe State University in their semifinal game, beating them 8-1. Three different goal-scorers recorded hat tricks: Riley Porter, Macie Lucas, and Delfina Zolesio Fernandez. Columbia's goalie allowed one goal against, making zero saves on the match.
Both teams dominated in the AMC All Conference Awards, with CC producing eight players and MBU producing seven.
CC holds a 7-0 conference record, and they have recorded 82 goals on the season. The nationally ranked team also has a .569 shot on goal percentage, and their starting goalie has a save percentage of .897.
MBU is 5-1-1 in the AMC, only losing to Columbia. They have recorded 32 goals and a shot on goal percentage of .570. Starting goalkeeper Mattli has a .755 save percentage on the season.

This is a highly anticipated rematch with even higher stakes.
