ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Baptist University women's soccer team will face Stephens College in the first round of the American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Tournament on Friday (Nov. 8) at 7 p.m., hosted by Missouri Baptist at Spartan Field.
MBU finished second in the AMC overall, ending with a 5-1-1 conference record. Missouri Baptist has won three conference championship titles since they've been members of the AMC, the last being in 2009.
The 2024 women's soccer team has displayed their talent and determination throughout the entire season, utilizing their deep bench quite often. Senior Skylar Hollingshead leads the team in goals (eight) and in points (17). She also picked up the first AMC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career. Following close behind in points is sophomore Gabbie Wood, with 15. Junior defender Piper Brown leads the Spartans in assists, with three.

In goal, Gabby Mattli and Hannah Miller consistently performed well for their team throughout the season. Senior Mattli has recorded 68 saves so far for a .747 save percentage. She has also only let in an average of two goals per match. This success on the field has earned her three AMC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors. Freshman Miller has made 18 saves on the season, and she holds a .545 save percentage.
Stephens College has never won a conference championship title. They are 1-6 on the season in conference play. The Stars have 16 cumulative goals and a shot on goal percentage of .733. In goal, Sofia Ramos has 96 saves on the season and a .733 save percentage.
