WARRENSBURG, Mo. — The Missouri Baptist University women's track and field team displayed an outstanding performance at the UMC Mule Relays on Friday (April 12).
Multiple Spartans placed first and second in their events, and others bested their personal records.
Emily Farchmin and Mia Reed soared to first place in the 1500 M and 800 M. Farchmin beat out 33 other runners in the 1500 M, setting a PR of 4:40.85 (prev. 4:43.25). Reed also set a new PR of 2:16.36 in the 800 M (prev. 2:21.60), outrunning 54 competitors.
Angela Ward and Alaina Scott each took second place in the 800 M and the pole vault. Following close behind Reed, Ward bested her previous record of 2:24.67 with new time of 2:18.59. Taking second out of 14 in the pole vault, Scott hit an NAIA 'A' standard for the second week in a row (3.70 M).
Adrienne Rockette placed sixth in the 1500 M, running it in 4:52.09. With this time, the junior set a new PR (prev. 4:57.08).
Juniors Laine Cottrell and Julianne Hansen performed well in the 100 M preliminaries, with Cottrell taking 23rd place out of 61 (12.97) and Hansen taking 40th (13.32). Hansen also took 24th out of 50 in the 200 M (26.74), and freshman Hannah Hiers placed 26th in the same event (26.85).
Lillian Harris also hit a PR of 21:24.29 in the 5000 M (prev. 22:30.46).

The Spartans will compete again this weekend (April 20) at the CSC Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Culver Stockton College in Canton, Mo., where they hope to keep climbing the ranks before the AMC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 1.
