MBU Women’s Golf Takes Second at WBU Invitational

KENNETT, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University women's golf took second place at the Williams Baptist University Invitational at the Kennett Country Club on Tuesday. Priscila Rodriguez, in her first collegiate start, led the way for the Spartans as they took silver with 682 strokes (351/331).

The freshman from Cordoba, Mexico, tied for eighth overall in the tournament, shooting an 81 on Monday. Rodriguez did one better on Tuesday with a team-best 80 for 161 overall.

Junior Chelsea Young came in eight strokes behind Rodriguez at 169, cleaning up an 89 from the first day to an even 80 on day two. GG Rogers was not far behind that at 173 (90/83), with Elena Montalban taking fourth on the team at 179 (91/88).

Women's golf will look to build on their start in Kennett, Mo., at the Central Kansas Classic beginning Monday, Sept. 16, in McPherson, Kan.
