ALTON, Ill. – Missouri Baptist University wrapped up its own MBU Invitational Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 7, with the men's program taking third and the women's taking sixth. The second men's team additionally took sixth out of 10 teams.
Pedro Cordova paced the men's team that finished with 610 strokes (+34), 24 strokes off the pace of William Woods University, who won the event. The freshman from Argentina responded with a 78 on Monday and followed it up with a 73 on Tuesday, finishing +7 in sixth place.
Luke Gardner was one stroke off, shooting 78-74 to finish in a tie for tenth.
Ethan Hanaman logged a top-15 finish with an 81-73 to lead MBU's B team. Freshman
Ruger Govero also landed inside the top 20 after shooting even (72) on day one before an 83 on Tuesday.
The women's team took sixth, finishing 169 strokes behind the event winners Bethel University (Tenn.).
Elena Montalban was in the top-20 at 18
th, going 96-87.
GG Rogers and
Chelsea Young were not far behind in 21
st and 23
rd, followed by
Zelletta Wyatt in 30
th.
Both teams are back on the course on Monday, Oct. 13, to open the first day of the CBC Invitational at The Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle, Ark.
