LIVONIA, Mich. – Missouri Baptist University men's lacrosse fell to No. 6-ranked Madonna University, 22-8, Monday afternoon at MU Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
With the loss, the Spartans dropped to 0-3 on the season, losing the first two contests of a five-game road stretch.
Jake Cordes led MBU with three goals and one ground ball. Both Matthew Lash and Caleb Tant tallied two goals and one assist apiece. Caleb Ward added one goal and collected three ground balls.
The Spartans recorded 37 shots compared to Madonna's 44 but struggled with turnovers, committing 41 compared to the Crusaders' 23.
MBU jumped out to an early 2-1 lead following goals from Cordes and Tant, but Madonna responded with three consecutive goals to take a 4-2 advantage.
Lash netted two goals to pull the Spartans within one at 5-4, but the Crusaders responded with six unanswered goals, pulling away en route to the 22-8 victory.
