MARSHALL, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University men's lacrosse secured its first win of the season in commanding fashion Wednesday evening, overwhelming Missouri Valley College, 22-2.
With the victory, the Spartans improved to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Matthew Lash led MBU with six goals and five assists, while Caleb Tant followed with five goals and three assists. Joe Busselman and Drew Chiodini each recorded hat tricks, with Busselman adding three assists and Chiodini contributing two.
Raymond Lingard scored twice, while Ryan Metcalf, Liam Prindable, and Jake Cordes each found the back of the net once.
From start to finish, MBU controlled the game, outshooting the Vikings 57-13. The Spartans opened with nine unanswered goals before Missouri Valley got on the board. MBU responded with another 12 straight goals, extending its lead to 21-1 before closing out the dominant 22-2 victory.
