Grand Rapids, Mich. – Missouri Baptist University men's lacrosse fell to No. 8-ranked Aquinas College 16-8 Saturday afternoon at the Aquinas College Athletic Field.
With the loss, the Spartans dropped to 0-2 on the season and opened their five-game road trip with a setback.
Ryan Metcalf led MBU with three goals and also picked up a ground ball. Caleb Tant contributed two goals and two assists, while Matthew Lash, Drew Chiodini, and Raymond Lingard each added a goal for the Spartans.
The Spartans registered 22 shots compared to 37 from the Saints.
Aquinas jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Metcalf's goal cut the deficit to 3-1. However, the Saints responded with four unanswered goals to take a commanding 7-1 advantage and never relinquished control.
