ST. LOUIS – No. 5 Missouri Baptist University earned a share of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship for the first time in program history after earning a Senior Day sweep over Culver-Stockton College on Tuesday night.

The Spartans finished the season 17-2 in HAAC play, tied with Missouri Valley College for the top mark in the league.

After tiebreakers, MBU will enter the HAAC Championship Tournament as the No. 2 seed and will play seventh-seeded Dordt University in the quarterfinals on Saturday, April 12, in the Carl & Deloris Petty SRC at 1 p.m.

After opening Senior Day activities honors
David Rudic,
Michael Anderson, and
Petar Lecic, Missouri Baptist took down Culver-Stockton in three sets, 25-18, 25-11, 25-15, to earn their 24
th win of the season and to extend their current winning streak to 10 games. Rudic had 27 assists as the team collectively hit .377 with 36 kills on 77 attacks and seven errors.

The Spartans brought the heat from the service line, logging 11 total on the day, led by three each from
Michael Olson and
Marko Jovanovic.

The offense got off to a slow start in the first set as MBU hit .214 compared to .038 from CSC.
Tom Young's squad then fired off a .429 in the second set and a .524 percentage to close out the game in the third set.

Jovanovic ended the day with a team-highs in kills (9) and aces (3).
Kyle Radecki had nine kills and a .471 hitting percentage, while
Alex Seyer's 10 digs and Lecic's three blocks paced the defense.
