Columbia Recap
James Jett and Jayden Orozco combined for 10 RBI in a 16-5 rout of Columbia College in the AMC Championship game on Friday night. Jett slugged a grand slam in the fifth inning and notched a two-run double in the second, while Orozco had a three-run shot in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the first.

The Spartans scored seven combined in the first two frames, added two more in the fourth, and a seven-spot in the fifth.

Sam Myers got the start on the mound and had a shaky first inning, allowing a one-out triple, an RBI groundout, and a home run over the right-field wall. He rebounded with four scoreless and ended his night in the seventh, going for the complete game. The St. Charles, Mo., native in total went six innings and allowed five earned runs with six punchouts.

After CC scored two in the sixth and looked to avoid the run rule in the seventh, JD Whitter was called out of the bullpen and inherited runners on first and second with nobody out. He went on to get a strikeout, a fielder's choice, and a groundout to give MBU a second consecutive AMC Tournament title.

Dominic Palma was on base all night, scoring four runs and driving in a run with a double in the second. Catcher Jakob Kouneski also had a strong night at the plate with a pair of RBI.
