CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University cross country opened the season at the SEMO Redhawk Invitational on Friday night, with multiple Spartans placing inside the top 40.
On the men's side, senior
Nick Fehr paced the Spartans in 23rd place with a personal best time of 15:55.70 seconds.
Grant Patten followed close behind in 26th with a PR of 16:02.28, and
Phillip Kackley finished 31st in 16:09.75. Senior
David Fletcher (35th, 16:16.65) and sophomore
Clayton Schneider (39th, 16:26.39) completed the scoring group, giving Missouri Baptist five runners in the top 40.
In the women's race, freshman
Isabella Aimonette led the Spartans with a 30th-place finish, clocking 18:55.86 in her collegiate debut. Senior
Adrienne Rockette placed 40th in 19:14.14, while sophomore
Julia Whorton crossed 50th in 19:48.12. Sophomore
Camrin Watkins (66th, 20:35.99) and senior
Haley Hernandez (72nd, 21:09.38) also added key scoring performances.
The Spartans are back on the course on Friday, Sept. 12, for the Larry Young Invite hosted by Columbia College at Gans Creek.
