COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University women's cross country won the Larry Young Invitational at Gans Creek in Columbia, Mo., on Friday evening. The Spartans turned in a strong performance with both the men's and women's cross country teams placing multiple runners inside the top 30.
The women bested the hosting Columbia College by three points to take first place out of 11 teams with 62 total points compared to the Cougars' 65. The men took fourth place with 107 points, 61 off the victorious Park University Pirates.
On the women's side, freshman
Isabella Aimonette continued her standout start by finishing runner-up in the 5K with a time of 18:54.50. Senior
Adrienne Rockette joined her in the top five, placing fourth in 19:51.57.
Freshman
Alyssa Collins added an 11th-place effort at 21:01.85, while sophomore
Camrin Watkins (21st, 21:38.96) and senior
Haley Hernandez (25th, 21:45.39) rounded out the Spartans' scoring group.

The men's team placed three runners in the top 30 of the 8K, led by sophomore
Phillip Kackley in 16th place at 27:11.94. Junior
Grant Patten followed closely in 17th with a time of 27:13.58, and sophomore
Clayton Schneider was 21st in 27:21.08. Senior
Nick Fehr placed 30th at 27:41.94, while senior
Ethan Bliss (37th, 27:58.30) and sophomore
Wyatt Claiborne (42nd, 28:11.01) gave Missouri Baptist six runners in the top half of the field.
