ST. LOUIS – No. 11 Missouri Baptist University baseball completed a four-game sweep of Baker University (Kan.) at Spartan Baseball Field to open Heart of America Athletic Conference play on Saturday.
Game One Recap
Marcus Graham kicked off the scoring in the second inning with an RBI double on a 3-2 pitch to score
Max Shabestari.
Miguel Padron added to the lead with an RBI single to right field to bring in Graham.

Tyson Wallace tied the game for Baker in the fourth inning, but
Sam Paule kicked off the scoring in the bottom half of the fourth with a two-RBI single to center.
Carlos Hidalgo came up later and blasted a three-run shot to right field to break the lead open to 7-3.

Tait Robertson got the ball on the mound for MBU to open the game and pitched five strong innings with six hits and two earned runs, including three strikeouts, to improve his record to 3-1.

Austin Szverra pitched two innings in relief, allowing one earned run and picking up three strikeouts.

Game Two Recap
Blake Reeder drove in the first two runs of the game to put the Wildcats ahead 2-0 through the top of the third. He hit a solo home run in the second and plated a run with a sacrifice fly in the third.

Jayden Orozco singled in a run in the third and came around to score to tie the game on a sacrifice fly from Shabestari.

A few more errors by Baker in the third and fourth innings had MBU up 4-2 until Hidalgo clubbed his second home run of the afternoon in the fifth to extend the lead to 6-2.

Baker scratched across two more runs as they continued the comeback bid, but were closed out by
Elliot Veisauyadra.

Tyler Timmerman earned his first win of the season with 5.2 innings, three earned, and seven strikeouts.
