The Missouri Baptist University lacrosse team (1-3, 0-0) fell in a five quarter matchup against (RV) Tennessee Wesleyan University (2-2, 0-0) on Wednesday, March 4.
Both teams came out hot, with 30 combined shots on goal in the first frame. Three Spartans led the charge, with goals from senior attacker

Liam Prindable. The Bulldogs answered with four goals to take an early lead.
The offense cooled down in the second quarter, with one goal from senior attacker

By halftime, the game was neck and neck, with 11 shots on goal (SOG) for the Bulldogs and nine for the Spartans to trail 5-4.
MBU took over the third period on a 4-0 run, with two goals from junior midfielder
Caleb Ward and one each from Busselman and Metcalf.
Daniel Heinrich, a graduate student goalie, protected the net with eight saves against nine shots on goal.
Heading into the final quarter, the Spartans led 8-6. Tennessee Wesleyan answered with a 6-0 run of their own in the first five minutes.
Despite trailing 8-12, the game was far from over. Busselman and Cordes buried two goals each in the final eight minutes, and Heinrich sealed the tie with a last-minute save to send the game to overtime.
With four minutes on the clock, the game entered sudden death. Tennessee Wesleyan won the draw and quickly ended the game with a final score of 13-12.
