Brett Drye represented Missouri Baptist University at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, finishing 15th in the men's long jump.
Drye, a freshman in his outdoor nationals debut, recorded a top mark of 6.89 meters (22 feet, 7.25 inches) in the meet held in Asheville, N.C.
Elijah Smith of St. Thomas University (Florida) won the national title with a leap of 7.69 meters (25-2.75), narrowly edging Jaylen Burris of Voorhees University, who finished second at 7.68 meters (25-2.50).
Drye was the lone competitor representing MBU at the NAIA Outdoor nationals event and concluded his first appearance on the national stage with a top-15 finish.
