ST. LOUIS – No. 6 Missouri Baptist University baseball defeated Culver-Stockton College on Tuesday, April 21, in a run-rule 10-0 victory.

MBU used a pair of big innings to pull away and shut out Culver-Stockton, 10-0, on the road.
The Spartans broke the game open in the third inning, sending 10 runs across the plate over two frames to back a dominant pitching effort.
In the third, MBU capitalized on control issues and defensive miscues. RBI from
Nick Beech and
Max Shabestari, along with run-producing plays from
Angelo Franco and
Griffin Brown, helped the Spartans build a 5-0 lead.
Carlos Hidalgo later added a sacrifice fly in the seventh to cap the scoring.
Franco finished 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the offense, while
Kai Gray added three RBI and Brown drove in a run.
Jayden Orozco chipped in two hits as MBU totaled eight hits and drew five walks.
On the mound,
Joseph Giunta set the tone, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out five to earn the win.
Jackson Wells closed it out with two hitless innings, striking out five.
Culver-Stockton managed four hits but struck out 10 times and left five runners on base.
MBU added insurance in the seventh inning, highlighted by Franco's two-run single and Gray's two-run single, pushing the lead to double digits and sealing the run-rule victory.
