MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS ON SENIOR DAY

For the second time this season, the Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball team swept Moody Bible Institute on Saturday. Before the match, the Spartans honored the accomplishments of three seniors: Jamaal Ferguson, Mike Walsh, and Brian Boswell.

MBI took an early 4-1 lead in game one. A kill by Ferguson tied the score at 6-6. The Spartans then went on a 9-3 run to take a 15-9 advantage. An ace from freshman Chris Lynch made the score 27-15. MBU would go on to take game one 30-15.

The Spartans opened game two on a 10-5 run. A powerful cross-court kill from Ferguson gave MBU a seven-point lead, 13-6. Trailing by five, 14-9, Moody Bible called a timeout. The Spartans responded with a 6-2 run to go up 20-11. Boswell sealed the victory for MBU with a kill, 30-17

Like game one, Moody Bible jumped out to a 4-1 advantage in game three. MBU answered with a 5-1 run to take a 6-5 lead. After an MBI timeout, the Spartans went on a 9-1 run to take a 21-10 lead and cruised to a 30-15 win.

With the victory, the Spartans improve to 11-18 overall, and 6-3 in the MAMVIC. MBU will travel to Chicago, Illinois on Friday, April 3rd for the MAMVIC East Conference Tournament.
