Box Score 4 The MBU softball team lasted four games into the American Midwest Conference Tournament, before bowing out on Saturday. The Lady Spartans finish the season 32-22, and in a three-way tie for fifth place in the AMC regular season at 7-9.
The Lady Spartans won their opening game of the tournament on Friday, shutting out eventual tournament champion McKendree University 3-0. The win set up MBU to face Columbia College on Saturday morning. The Lady Cougars sent the Lady Spartans into the elimination bracket, as they defeated MBU 3-1. MBU avoided elimination with a 5-2 win over Williams Baptist College, to face McKendree University yet again on Saturday afternoon. This time, it was the Lady Bearcats who earned the shutout and the chance to stay alive in the tourney, as they posted a 5-0 win over MBU.
Sluggers Lauren Scovill and Brittany Job were named First-Team All-Conference for Missouri Baptist. Pitcher Jessica Robinson and outfielder Meaghan Rocco earned Honorable Mention nods.
